Over 2.7 million people in Australia have varying severities of asthma1. The fundamentals of asthma management remain the same when treating patients from mild to severe asthma. However, patients who continue to exacerbate in spite of optimised treatment may benefit from new treatments available. In this webinar we will discuss the importance of regular maintenance therapy and review treatment options for mild to moderate asthma patients. Dr Greg Katsoulotos is a Respiratory, Sleep & Allergy Physician with a special interest in asthma of all severities. He works in several hospitals across the St George and Sutherland Shire. His consulting rooms are in Kogarah and Miranda. Greg has a PhD in Asthma Immunology and has completed further Allergy studies. Greg has wide experience in the severe asthma space with the use of biological agents and the management of severe asthma in general, managing over 70 patients at present who are on biological agents for severe asthma. He is a member of the Guidelines Committee of the National Asthma Council. Greg also offers an extensive telehealth service for rural and remote areas specialising in severe/ difficult to treat asthma, supporting both GPs and their patients. He is a Senior Lecturer at the UNSW and Member of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research. Greg also chairs several Severe Asthma MDT Meetings and participates in Australian severe asthma registries.
