Events Calendar

This event will showcase the suicide prevention initiatives and service developments across Western NSW with a particular focus on older people. This will include information on the Western NSW LHD Older People's Suicide Prevention Pathway Project and provide presentations along with a case study discussion on current knowledge and practice related to working with older people experiencing suicidal crisis and support to them, their families, carers and networks.

Local Mental Health Service Showcase WNSWLHD Mental Health services and WNSW PHN, along with key partners will showcase a range of mental health services available in the region.   

The days’ program highlights include:

- Networking opportunities prior to and throughout the event

- Welcome to Country with local Wiradjuri Elder Recognition of lived and living experience Education sessions with Dr Lindsay Ayerst, Gabrielle McNamara, Martin Davis and clinicians from the Mental Health Emergency Care team

- Workshops that include case studies, safety planning and asking directly around thoughts of suicide 

- Interactive Q&A session with an expert panel of presenters and service providers
