HPV Self-Collection in General Practice Workshop (Dubbo)

Cancer Council NSW and GPEx invite GPs, GP Registrars, Nurses and primary health care teams to attend a workshop providing education and training on HPV self collection in General Practice.

By the end of this training session, participants will:

  • Understand changes to the National Cervical Screening Pathway (NCSP) for HPV self-collection effective from 1.7.2022 and how to incorporate into Primary Practice including pathology requirements.
  • Understand eligibility criteria for self-collection for cervical screening, including when self-collection is not appropriate, and how to interpret results and use follow-up pathways
  • Promote and educate self-collection in primary practice, including patient education regarding how to collect a sample and the importance of screening, to increase participation rates in the NCSP, especially in underscreened groups.

The workshop includes discussion and case studies to engage and enable participants to practically apply their skills and knowledge, and will be facilitated by Dr Phoebe Walsh (Family Planning NSW).

Dinner will be provided.
