This workshop is designed for clinicians who respond to severe trauma incidents - rural emergency medicine/critical care/ICU physicians, general practitioners, paramedics and nursing staff.

Learning Outcomes

• Recognise and initiate assessment of the trauma patient
• Demonstrate practical proficiency in performing procedures in severe trauma, including advanced airway, breathing and circulation procedures
• Identify and manage human and environmental factors influencing the trauma setting
• Describe trauma systems to effectively refer and transfer patients to regional and major trauma services.
