External CPD Event - NSW Rural Doctors Network - Trauma Management & Skills Training (Orange)

The course will provide a systematic trauma approach and essential trauma management skills. It will utilise a number of teaching modalities including hands on skill stations and immersive simulations.
The course will be held at the School of Rural Health in Orange and is an excellent opportunity to update clinical skills, network with colleagues and gain necessary CPD points.
Target Audience: GP’s & VMO’s
Learning outcomes:
* Implement a systematic assessment of a trauma patient in the rural Emergency Department
* Manage common trauma presentations including head injury, major haemorrhage, chest trauma and the multi-trauma patient
* Utilise communication and team leadership skills including complex decision making and crisis management
* Be confident with trauma skills inclusive of chest tube insertion, Intraosseus insertion, binders and splints
