This session will provide GPs with an opportunity to tackle a virtual patient consultation (SimGP) and engage with their colleagues in a consultative diagnostic approach to investigate presenting symptoms, diagnose the underlying condition and explore appropriate treatment options. 

This interactive session will be followed by an educational debrief facilitated by a Pain Specialist to reinforce best practice and discuss the practical challenges raised during the simulated consultation.

Learning Outcomes:

• Measure and assess patient pain levels in primary care to facilitate functional-based action plans
• Explain the biopsychosocial pain paradigm to patients as a basis for individualised treatment decisions
• Discuss the role of analgesic treatment options in pain management in primary care
• Discuss the impact of pain on function and implement management options to improve quality of life for patients with pain
