Erectile dysfunction is common after radical prostatectomy and has a negative impact on health-related quality of life. Erectile Dysfunction is a condition in which a man is unable to obtain an erection or maintain it long enough for sexual intercourse. ED can affect relationships between partners if left untreated and many men feel embarrassed to talk to a doctor about this problem and sometimes will fall victim to various frauds and scams.

Penile rehabilitation is defined as the use of any drug or device at or after radical prostatectomy to maximize erectile function recovery. The purpose of penile rehabilitation is to prevent smooth muscle damage to not only maximize the chances of a man to recover functional erections but also return him to his preoperative erectile function level.

Dr Michael Gillman is a Men's Health GP in Brisbane and has been a pioneer in the field of penile rehabilitation following prostate cancer treatment. Michael is the co-author the well-established paper: Prostate cancer survivorship; a review of erectile dysfunction and penile rehabilitation after prostate cancer therapy. To facilitate informed decision making, patients should be presented with all treatment options, and told that rehabilitation and treatment for ED as early as possible after prostate cancer therapy will result in faster and better recovery of erectile function and preserve sexual continuity.

During this live and interactive webinar Dr Gillman will provide realistic expectations, up to date pharmaceutical information whilst dispelling myths surrounding this treatment method.
