Request for Proposals - Psychiatry Support Line for GPs
Applications close 10 April, 2018 at 5pm
South Eastern NSW PHN, Northern Sydney PHN, Central and Eastern Sydney PHN, Hunter New England and Central Coast PHN, Murrumbidgee PHN and Western NSW PHN invite suitably qualified and experienced organisations to apply to operate a Psychiatry Support Line for GPs through a single, open Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
The three core objectives for this RFP are as follows:
- to identify a lead agency for the administration of a telephone support line
- to develop a sustainable model whereby a pool of psychiatrists provides expert advice to General Practitioners (GPs) which enables them to support mental health consumers, rather than refer them to a specialist
- to improve the mental health service received by consumers in the primary care setting.
The funding will be to operate an advice service during business hours, accessible to all GPs in the geographical catchment of the co-commissioning group of PHNs.
An information session will be held via webinar on Tuesday 27 March at 1pm. Please refer to the RFP Guideline for more information.
