The current treatment options for HCV infection will be presented together with discussion on local treatment pathways, insight into a patient’s lived Hepatitis C experience and a FibroScan demonstration. 

Target Audience

GPs, Registrars, Nurses, Pharmacists, Medical Students, Specialists, Allied Health and Other Interested Health Professionals.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify HCV infected patients that can be treated in general practice
  • Identify patients with fatty liver disease and advise on management
  • Apply management strategies for both conditions to prevent progression to chronic liver disease, liver failure and liver cancer
  • Inform and educate patients regarding the FibroScan procedure
