The Western NSW PHN is partnering with TAFE NSW to deliver a Cultural Safety education session for general practice teams and primary health care providers in our area.

Learning outcomes:

  • Build a foundation for cultural competence through a process of ongoing self-reflection and capacity for cultural self-assessment
  • Adapt practice policy, service delivery and behaviors to fit the cultural diversity of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community
  • Provide resources and support appropriate to the health literacy and cultural needs of the community
  • Work towards achieving sustainable cultural safety in health care by ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are aware of appropriate services and programs
