The Western NSW PHN is partnering with TAFE NSW to deliver a Cultural Safety education session for general practice teams and primary health care providers in our area. This education session will build upon information previously presented at Cultural Awareness sessions (attendance at which is not a pre-requisite to participate in this education activity) and will incorporate relevant case-studies to explore the provision of respectful and culturally appropriate care, as per the RACGP Standards for General Practice (5th Edition) to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, through a process of self-reflection, open discussion, sharing of experiences and exploring strategies to achieve sustainable cultural safety in health care delivery to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations in Western NSW.

Targeted Audience:

GPs, Registrars, Practice Nurses, Practice Managers, Practice Receptionists/Staff.  Other interested primary health care professionals including Pharmacists, Medical Students, Specialists and Allied Health Professionals are also welcome to participate.
