Health professionals are invited to attend an education session on HIV, Sexually Transmissible Infections and HCV. This education activity will provide a review of current treatments and management including: prevention strategies, contact tracing and referral pathways.

Presenters: Kim Grant, Sexual Health and HIV CNC for Western NSW LHD and Dr Nick Comminos and Dr Suzanne Rix, Sydney Sexual Health Centre

Target Audience: GPs, Registrars, Nurses, Pharmacists, Medical Students, Specialists, Allied Health Professionals and other interested health professionals

Learning Outcomes:

  • Being comfortable taking a sexual history and being aware of guidelines for STI testing and at-risk groups
  • Know and recall key clinical features and testing and treatment recommendations for STI syndromes
  • Be familiar with key Public Health and Individual-level STI/HIV prevention initiatives
  • Being familiar with antimicrobial stewardship principals in Sexual Health and the safe prescribing of antimicrobials
