This virtual education session will explore:

  • Current COVID-19 vaccination booster recommendations
  • 2023 influenza vaccination recommendations across the
  • lifespan, including importance for six month to 5 year olds
  • NIP adult vaccination – encourage uptake of pneumococcal vaccination for Aboriginal and Non-Indigenous population at appropriate age-points
  • Shingles (Zosta or Shinrix) for eligible adult population (catch-up for 71-79 year olds ceases October 2023)
  • NSWISS specialized clinical advice for clinicians

Learning outcomes

  • Identify and administer appropriate immunisations in accordance with the current National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule
  • Discuss COVID-19 variants and the need for booster doses for specific cohorts
  • Recognise the need for additional NIP vaccinations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Discuss NSWISS specialised clinical advice with providers
