Why It Matters:
Prediabetes affects 1 in 6 people and, if untreated, can lead to type 2 diabetes and other health complications. Annual screening for type 2 diabetes is recommended for high-risk groups, including those with a family history of diabetes, obesity, aged over 40, certain high-risk ethnicities and those who are less active.
