The Western NSW Primary Health Network (WNSWPHN) is holding a series of consultation meetings across the region to identify key health priorities and strategies to inform future planning and delivery of services in the primary care sector.

At the independently facilitated meetings the WNSW PHN will seek insights from community and service providers on the storyline for health in their areas; including emerging health issues, gaps in services and advice on how to deliver appropriate and culturally safe primary care.

The workshops aim to provide a voice for issues and people not represented in routine statistical data collections and very importantly facilitate a shared approach to designing and delivering appropriate health care. The feedback and findings from the sessions will directly inform our work in supporting, planning, commissioning and evaluating health services. The WNSW PHN is required by the Commonwealth to complete the annual Health Needs Assessment.

The process will also incorporate the key findings from external data sources compiled by agencies such as the Western NSW Health Intelligence Unit and will draw on analysis of the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Needs Assessment and the WNSW PHN After-Hours Services Audit.
